The first time I ever used a stroker, I couldn’t help but feel somewhat disappointed.  The reviews on that particular toy raved about how great it was but my experience was lack luster.  I tried it out a few more times and still wasn’t impressed.  I thought about throwing it away, but then I started thinking about what I could do to make the experience better.  I tried a few things and the experience got much better.  Now I would like to share with you some tips for using a stroker.

1. Warm Up Your Device

There are actually specialty warmers you can buy specifically for the purpose of warming up your stroker or fleshlight prior to use.  Personally, I just warm mine up with hot water out of the tap.  Just run the hot water into the canal of the device for about 5 or ten minutes before use.  Make sure to test the temp with your finger before you put your unit in to make sure you’re not going to burn your penis.  Believe me when I say, warming up your device makes a whole world of difference.

2. Use the Right Lube

This is probably the most important tip for using a stroker. If your dissatisfied with the performance of a particular toy, check that your lube is right for the material of your toy.  Some lubricants are better than others.  Some types of lubricants can actually break down certain materials that toys are made of.  If you’re not sure, water-based lubricants are pretty much universal.  There are also many types of lubricants out there that have added features.  Some say they will make you last longer; some have a cooling or heating effect, like this one here.  Experiment. A good quality lubricant can completely change the feel of your device.

3. Keep It Clean

I know this one kind of gets beaten to death, but keeping your sex toys clean and free from debris and bacteria is probably the most important thing you can do. Keeping them clean not only helps them last longer, but it can save you from getting an infection.  Use the right kind of soap for your toy.  Some manufactures have different recommendations and just like lube, some soaps can actually destroy your device. 4. Use the Right Toy For the Job

Everybody has a range of things they are into- Different strokes for different folks, right? Sometimes you want to go fast, or slow, or hard or whatever. Different toys will perform differently in each circumstance. Try a range of different toys (and lubes) for different situations.  You can also try different methods of using your toys.  While I haven’t tried it myself, I have heard some men say if you stuff your stroker in between your couch cushions it’s a way better experience.

5. Try Warming Up Your Lube

This may seem redundant, but warming up your lube can make a huge difference in the feel of your toy. most lubricants become less viscous when they are heated, which can make them thinner. This can have a range of benefits, besides just feeling great. It allows the lube to flow easier, which can help it coat better. Run the bottle under hot water for several minutes or put it in a cup of hot water before use. Do not expose lubricants to direct heat sources, DO NOT MICROWAVE YOUR LUBE. Hot water will heat it up just fine and some lubricants can become flammable.
